Kenya’s Top 100 survey is an initiative of KPMG Kenya & the Nation Media Group’s ‘Business Daily’. The survey focuses on fast growing mid-sized companies in recognition of the the fact the the SME sector is a key contributor to Kenya’s economic growth.

Shujaaz Inc has been proudly recognised in Top 100 for the past 4 years, however, this is the first time we have won a Special Award. Their Special Awards are given to “industry champions who are leaders in a specific field”.

Innovation is a core principle of the Shujaaz Inc model, so to be recognised for this is immensely gratifying and encouraging.

Shujaaz Inc’s commitment to innovation was one of the things that most appealed to me when I applied to join Shujaaz Inc as CFO last year. There is a strong internal desire to constantly improve what we do and how we do it, and also a commitment to re-think and redesign the social change communications space from the point of view of the user (as captured by our player first value).

The way we make our media, the way we are funded, the way our audience relates to our brands, the way we understand and create social change, the multiple ways we measure effects, all of these are unique to Shujaaz Inc, and the product of our strong innovation culture.

Our Head of People, Justine Nzyoka, and Senior Finance Manager, Mary Mungai, represented Shujaaz Inc at the glamorous event and were welcomed back to the office with great cheers by the team as they raised our trophy high.

I’m looking forward to more success this coming year for Shujaaz Inc.
